Onteora patches 1980 - 1999

As Onteora moved in to the 1980s the patches took a bit of a different twist with several two-part designs being issued. I think Scouts were give one part for attending camp and had to buy the matching part at the Trading Post. A clever way to drive up the sales there! As attendance began to dwindle at camp some patches were issued without dates so they could be used for multiple years. Later as we move into the 1990s, there is a sad gap in any Onteora patches as the camp was closed for several years.

I scanned many of these patches years ago when file sizes were usually kept low both for space and for download times. I hope to redo these in larger sizes in the future.

This patch was part of a fund-raising plan in the 1980s. Each camper received one of these patches and could then buy an insert patch.	The 1986 insert patch	Here's how the patches fit together in a plastic holder. I believe this was only done for one year.

An undated patch from the 1980s	1991 The last patch issued before the closure.	This great jacket patch was issued in 1994 to commemorate a very important event - the re-opening of Onteora as a summer camp! I was thrilled to see my old unit, Troop 182, as one of the groups carrying on such a wonderful tradition.

1998 Jacket patch	This patch is very hard to see, as it's all done in white. It's a view of Onteora in the winter. Issued by Iroquois District for Bluenose 1998.	1998 Summer campers could buy the bobcat on the left for their jackets; the white one on the right is only for those hardy enough to camp at OSR in winter.
